The 2010 AMA Supercross Season
The 2010 AMA Supercross Season is set to kickoff in Anaheim, CA on Jan 9th. This year already brings lots of question to the forefront into one of the most competitive seasons thus far. Can Ryan Villopoto give James Stewart and Chad Reed a run for the title? Is Mike Alessi going to run Supercross this year? How about Jason Lawrence? Is he a free man? Can Ryan Dungey make the transition from the 250 class to the 450 class a successful one as Villopoto did last season? Will the rivalry between Stewart and Reed be as intense as years past? There are lots of questions to be answered this season which should prove to no longer be a one man race as when Stewart ran away with the titles in years past.
We have seen a few changes in rider sponsorship as well. Stewart will be aboard the San Manuel Yamaha for the 2nd season teaming up with the newly acquired Josh Hill. Reed will no longer be running Suzuki as this year he will be donning a Kawasaki teaming with Villopoto. Mike Alessi also has made a switch, from Suzuki to KTM.
With Dungey moving up, the 250 Class seems to have opened up a bit for the likes of Christophe Pourcel, Jake Weimer, Nico Izzi, Austin Stroupe and the rest of the top riders in the 250cc Lites Class this year.
On a personal note GetDirtyMX is proud to sponsor #175 Phillip Nicoletti, from Cochecton, NY this season in the 250cc Lites West. You will be able to spot him at the races when he straps on the 1st ever GetDirtyMX helmet (shown below) done up by Jason Saar of Hot Hedz Designs.

We wish Phillip and the entire field of 2010 AMA Supercross Riders good luck this year. It should be an exciting season to say the least. Ride hard, Stay safe and most of all Get Dirty!
