Drama, Twitter and Black Flags…What is Supercross?
For the full scenario of what played out between Jason Lawrence and Ryan Dungey let’s go back to Friday at 3:45pm when Josh Hill tweeted this message on Twitter:
“Please text me dungeys number so I can let him know I’m comming to indy. -Jason Lawrence just txtd me that yeeewww”.
From that moment I think everyone new what was about to go down this weekend. But, would it be J-Law to initiate the contact? Would something really go down between these two during an AMA Supercross Event? Does J-Law have no respect for the sport? Let’s go to the video and take a look at what happened.
Seemed Dungey was the one to initiate the contact. Maybe J-Law simply got into Dungeys head before practice even started. Wasn’t Dungey out there to focus on regaining the wins he had earlier this year and slow down the momentum of Ryan Villopoto and Josh Hill?
None the less the 2 were black-flagged and placed into separate heat races. Dungey would go on to take 2nd place in his heat race and 2nd in the Main. J-Law didn’t fair as well finishing 6th in his heat and 10th in the Main.
Through it all I think it may be more of a mind game being played by J-Law, the problem for Dungey is it may be working. Dungey said after the incident that he (J-Law) likes to play games and stir up drama. J-Law had more to say than that! J-law went on to say the kid (Dungey) is mentally unstable; he was born mentally ill and is still mentally ill. He gets flustered when I am around him.
Let’s all come to some sense of reality here about J-law. The kid has the talent, but just may be unable to shake the bad-boy image or maybe doesn’t want to. Dungey on the other hand portrays the wholesome kid you would let your daughter date. Seems this week J-Law got the best of Dungey and maybe the wholesome kid has a bad temper.
I am sure there will be more to come as these two meet up again down the road. That being said I think Dungey needs to mature and focus on racing and not what other people are doing or saying. Get Dirty MX would like to know your thoughts on what transpired at Indy between these two. Feel free to leave your comments below.
