Deep Mud Divin’

rancherWell one day after the snow finally melted at the Liberty Lake ORV Park in Washington State me and a friend decided to take the toys out to play. MUD everywhere, the thick soupy stuff! I was riding my Honda CRF250 and he was on my Honda 420 Rancher. I told him I wanted to try and ride across this huge mud hole. Had the four wheeler in the top of 3rd coming down this hill to the mud hole and of course as soon as I’m halfway across she starts to go down. I didn’t think it was deep but she was sinking fast! I realized the only strap I had was wrapped around the front end of the wheeler and that part was already completely submerged. Looks like I was going swimming. As the mud is now over my waist line and I’m trying to keep a grip on the wheeler with my feet. I put my goggles on tight and went under for the strap. Thankfully I got it quickly cause it was freezing. So now on top of the wheeler being about 5-6 feet under and was completely dead. I throw the free end of the strap to the side where a group of other guys were willing to help. It took 5 guys to pull her out. There was no hope of it starting, luckily once it was out it was a downhill coast to the truck. With mud filled boots and soaking wet clothes caked in mud I drove home. I stripped down the wheeler and you would not believe the things that came out of the motor when I pulled it apart. When I undid the oil drain plug nothing but water and mud came out for the first minute before the oil came. This was a wonderful wet adventure. But once I cleaned the motor out and got her all back together with fresh fluids I turned that key and just like a Honda it started right up :) I never expected it to start, I thought she was a goner. The picture I have is after I just started spraying her down, she was literally all brown! Hope you enjoy my mishap!
